Dear Diary, the last Union Day of the year was a blast actually the whole year was a blast but we are talking about Camp P Union Day. We had the best turn-out yet and it was packed with great players. A lot of great players from prominent players from Ironmen, SD Mob, Velocity Wrecking Crew, Gnar Kill, SD Heat, GS Pirates and some of the kids from GoGo13. Our guest players were Eric Humphreys and Alex Russell from the Ironmen. The day started off busy with a 40 person deep line at the get go. Mabelle from AF had her hands full but like a pro she got that mob under control. The rest of the day was loud music laughter and just hanging out have a great time. Big thanks to Steve Humphreys for rocking the microphone doing live commentary of the games. Our new Referee’s Cory and Kelly Russell (The Russell Brothers) did an excellent job keeping those games rolling with the help from Sean “Stimpy” Steepy form AF. We also had the our 1^st female player Heidi “Supergirl” Munsch rocking out all day. At the end of the day Occupy Barstow were the days overall killers defeating Camp Pendel Pain. There was an exhibition match against Velocity Wrecking Crew and Gnar Kill which was awesome to see since it very rare to see that many VWC players together. To end the day it was an all out 10 on 10 battle royal. Can’t wait for next year and thank you everyone who has come to an event this year.

Dear Diary, all I can say is GK All Day!!!!!! Well coming off the crazy 5 day NPPL Vegas odyssey my wife wasn’t to thrilled about me going to another tournament even if it was local. So I begged, pleaded and Sunday was OK.

Well Sunday rolls around and Casey and I are off to Camp P. We hit the field running shooting pictures, rolling the video and hanging with the refs. There was a cool altercation on the field with a lot of yelling and hand gestures. Of course we got it on video and it just might show up in the video.

Let’s get back to the tournament. Our Gnar Kill boys only gave up 1 point in prelims that is fucking amazing. They were spitting hot fire the whole tournament. They have to take 1^st this event to take the series. They faced SD Reign another one of our homies in the finals. I believe SD Reign also was undefeated going into the final match. They really stepped it up for this tournament and all the practices paid off. It came down to Gnar Kill and SD Reign in the finals for 1^st and 2^nd. Gnar Kill took it in two games for 1^st place and the series. It was really good to see my friends on that podium J Congratulations to 1^st place Gnar Kill, 2^nd place SD Reign, 3^rd place The Offmen and 4^th place NBK. RPL I will see you next year.

NPPL Las Vegas 2011

Dear Diary, everything started on a Thursday at 5am picked up by my sister and dropped off at Lindbergh field for a 1hr flight to Vegas. Plane leaves on time and I had to sit bitch at least it was only an hour. I hit the curb and my boys from “The Heat” pick me up at 8:30am. Cory, Ryan and Kelly deliver a story told many times before about strip clubs and blowing all their cash on a stripper named Candy. I check into the Riviera and boy did they tack on the fees all I can say FUCK YOU Riviera.

After settling in I headed to the field check out things. Saw a bunch of familiar faces John and Jerry from Kamandag, Blake and OZ from Paintball Addicts and a bunch of random peeps. For some reason I went to the captain’s meeting in hopes of hearing some news about the merger but no dice. The first night ended at Circus Circus Buffet with “The Heat” I had a feeling it wouldn’t be that great since there was no line to get in.

Friday morning off to the races it was cold overcast a very ugly day to shoot pictures. Diary I’ve never been shot in the neck and head so many times. A funny thing happened during a pump match against the Hench Men starring Chuck Hench (one of the owners of the league) and Kamandag apparently Chuck took off his barrel condom too soon and was ejected from the game. Wow that took balls to make that call I commend the Ref for his professionalism. I ran into Feddy and Nita from FUZION. Feddy was playing PRO with Explict which is really cool to see. That night I hung out with Glen and Bryan from Dye and got some all you can eat Korean BBQ which was very good.

Saturday the sun came out and it got quite warm. The shot of the day was of LVPP.Net their snake player gets bunkered then like superman a LVPP flew over the bunker and lit the guy up. Saturday night was players party oh yeah all you can drink Budlite a 20 foot sub sandwich and Lay potato chips. The beer went fast but I pulled off 4 before they ran out. I was sitting with the GNAR KILL boys there guesting for another team. We got a little crazy when we stole the bowl of chips and a huge bowl of onion dip. Oh what a night.

Sunday the last day Diary it felt like I was there for months. I was mainly hanging with The Heat boys they were playing 7man D4 and were mowing faces all day but got killed in penalties in the finals. They took 2nd at the NPPL and took 1st in the D-League series. The cool thing is that 3 out of the top 5 were D-League teams which tells a lot about the integrity of the new league. Overall it was a great time and I can’t wait till next year.

WCPPL Cali Jam Event #4 2011

Dear Diary,

Saturday morning 5am ham sandwich, coffee and waiting for Casey and Alan. Who is Alan? Well Alan is on GOGO13 a new team AF has assembled made up of new tourney kids and a couple old ones. Alan’s job today was to POD TECH or BITCH for Gnar Kill. Promptly at 7am we are off to Camp P for a fun day of friends, paintball and pain. We hit the parking lot and who is there to greet us but Pro Paintball’s darling ANDREW H. Caught up with Andrew while we got the equipment together then we dropped off Alan with Gnar Kill and we hit the field where we met up with Mr. Josh Bussard another AF photog. This event we were rolling 3 deep for AF. I really love the “Race to” format for us it is easier to photograph more teams. The games were long and intense always going to point or overtime. It was great to see everyone again but it was unusual not to see some D2 teams like Hitmen, GAT and Ambush playing. I did see their players guest on other teams like Blake Yarber playing for SD Mob, Allan Gungormez for The Cobras and Alex Russell for the Pirates. Day 1 was cut short for me since I was threatened with physical violence if I didn’t get back in time to take the kids to the pumpkin patch.

Day 2 rolls around Casey as usual but a new set of GOGO13 kids, fresh bodies for Gnar Kill to run to the ground Little Nate and Sean. The games were even better on day 2. PB Gateway was on fire and the new team in D2 The Cobras was on the warpath. Gateway took the series by after there 5-3 win against SD MOB. In the finals it came down to Gateway vs. The Cobras. Gateway won their first encounter on day 1 but in the finals just couldn’t beat the clock and The Cobras took 1st for the event.

In reflection of the year it was a great filled with excitement and change. Moments like Event 1 the win by GAT vs. The Pirates, the crazy PB Gateway vs. Fuzion 2 on 1 and the changing of the guard from SD MOB to PB Gateway. I am really looking forward to next year and I hope see the same great teams and some new ones.
