Dear Diary today is the 1st Blitz Regional Paintball League event at SC Village. I was really on the fence about going but I had to go support the sister league of our very own AFPL. The main reason for my apprehension was what weather guy and his predictions of massive weather front that was hitting the area with non-stop rain and mayhem. I just said FUCK IT and Casey and I were off to SC Village ready to do battle with the weather.

When we got there it was a totally different story. It was partly cloudy and sunny, F you Mr. Weatherman. It was great to see all the pump boys working it on the half sized fields creating havoc and scaring children. I take my hat off to Eugene and the Blitz crew for running a smooth event. We ended up only clocking in a half day but word on the street was it came down to LA Hitmen and Check It Factory again and ended with another 1st place by LA Hitmen. Well looks like 2 events down and the LA Hitmen look unstoppable. Hope to see you vets at the next AFPL.

XOXOXO

John

Sometimes, we get an inflated ego and say to ourselves, “We’re from SoCal. SoCal = SoCool.” We say it to ourselves in the mirror and flex our muscles and think we’re super badass. And then we snap out of it and realize there’s a whole wide world outside of our little paintball community and it’s time to explore other paintball communities, meet new people, and make new friends.

We’ve heard that the scene in the Northwest was on fire, and now Almost Famous Paintball is about to check it out firsthand and we couldn’t be more excited. The AFPL will hold its first out-of-state tournament at Diamond Hill Paintball Park in Harrisburg, Oregon on June 16 and 17. This installment of the AFPL will offer:

  • 5man Pump Race to 3
  • 5man Semi Race to 3
  • 3man Semi raced to 2

We are humbled to be welcome by Diamond Hill and the locals, who have already shown us some love.

To the locals (and anyone else who comes out to this event), we thank you for giving us the opportunity to show you what we do. We’re bringing our media entourage, PA system, and resident comedian. Seriously. We travel with a comedian. It takes the edge off of long road trips.

See you in June, Oregon!

Dear Diary,

This is my first gallery with the new camera.  I spent the day getting the settings dialed in and went to work, so without further delay, here’s the AFPL Origins Pump Tournament!

This was my first AFPL event, and I loved it.  It was held at Action Star Games in Colton, so it was a bit of a drive for me.  I woke up at 7:30 and got there at 7:45… awesome times.  I then met up with John and Casey and we got on to the field to start the first pump tourney of the season.

AFPL kicked off the Pump Season with a great tournament.  It was very reminiscent of a Union Day, but with a more charged, score-oriented atmosphere.  Games went fast and smooth, and from what I could see, everyone was having a great time.

Diary, Southern California is DEFINITELY the place to be if you’re at all interested in playing paintball with a pump gun in 2012.  I’m looking forward to the BRPL coming up, and then the next AFPL after that.  Looking to see you and all the pumpers out there.

Josh

Dear Diary, I love Union Day!!!!!! The morning started with my new breakfast of choice a peanut and jelly sandwich and a cup of coffee. Sean (aka Little Rain Cloud) showed up a little early and off to Camp P but not before picking up Mr. Lewis Lawson one of the refs for the day at Denny’s. We get to the park and met up with Kevin Panda Thai, Josh Mizuguchi and Sehee Jeong (GO GO 13) and set –up.

We had a little hick up with Karrington and Cory locking themselves out of their car so we made an emergency call to AAA and everything was better. We ended up changing their team name from The Slinkies to Keyless Entry, nice name change JW (John’s Wife) J There were a bunch great games and I would like to thank our ambassadors to paintball Mr. Ricky Axtell and Mr. Kham Phomphila from SD MOB for being just AWESOME. The top dogs of the day were #1 The Magic of Unicorns, #2 Bush Administration, #3 Heaven Sent and 4th Ballin for Stalin. We ended the day with some crazy 10man action. Massive amounts balls were flying blocking out the sun. Thanks for everyone for making this event grow and prosper.

Dear Diary, I am flying solo on day one of the WCPPL year opener. Casey had class and Josh had no gas. Hooked up a coffee and peanut butter and jelly sandwich and I was off. Got there just in time to wait an hour for Gnar Kill’s first match, they were having problems with the new DYE scoreboard. A lot of changes this year especially in the D2 division no PB Gateway , no Fuzion, no Gat Factory, no LA Hitmen but SD MOB is back J  The day was awesome seeing all my PB friends and meeting new ones. I made a deal with the wife that I would be back by 1 so the day was cut short.

Day 2

Well the day started great because Casey actually woke up on time and he drove. On the way up we picked up Tone from Gnar Kill he was coaching another AF team SD Reign. The weather was awesome and the action was furious. Jason one of the cool refs agreed to where a wire tap so we could record his rants on the field also our homeboy Jameall Thomas did some play by play commentary for the finals. It all came down to SD MOB and Notorious in the D2 finals as the time ran out Notorious was victorious. Well till the next time.
